MEET ABTEEN

Abteen is an experienced hedge fund manager, real estate investor, and Texas licensed attorney running for Congress to defend the American Dream at a moment of historic economic change.

 

His career has been defined by execution, leading complex, job creating investment and development projects, managing risk in high stakes environments, and delivering outcomes in the real economy rather than political talking points.

Abteen has managed and overseen major investment portfolios, including six development projects approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and has served as a co-developer on a transformative waterfront mixed-use project in a major northeastern U.S. city with more than four million square feet of planned development. His professional experience sits at the intersection of capital markets, real estate, technology, and law, giving him a rare, practical understanding of how decisions made in Washington ripple through markets, businesses, and ultimately into the lives of American workers and families.

He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, an MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University, and a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law with a concentration in Business and Financial Law. He is licensed to practice law in Texas. He has also served in leadership roles across his industry, including board service with IIUSA and as a director of Braemar Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: BHR), serving on Corporate Governance and Audit committees.

When Abteen was a child, his family moved to the United States as political refugees. He embodies the American Dream and he’s running to protect it for the next generation. His perspective on immigration is personal and practical: he supports legal immigration, but believes a secure border is what makes the United States a sovereign nation and a safe place to raise a family and build a future.  Abteen is also a proud convert to Christianity and vehemently opposes Sharia Law and overreaching Islamic cultural practices. He's been a proud gun owner since he was legally able to carry, earning his first concealed carry permit at twenty one.
